Putting everything in its place

GUELPH (Nov 28, 2006)Ignorance and complacency are the worst enemies of the Guelph Fire Department.
Ignorance for not knowing how to store household chemicals so they don’t start or feed a fire.
Ignorance for not thinking to blow out candles when you leave a room. Ignorance for falling asleep while dinner is simmering on the stove.
And complacency at assuming everything is fine in your home, but not checking to be sure.
“Fire safety is in people’s minds, for a while,” said Kim Hodgson, Chief Fire Prevention Officer for the Guelph Fire Department. “But then they become complacent.
“With fires, you can never let your guard down.”
Firefighters museum finds a home in shopping mall
September 14, 2006 on 2:30 pm | In General | No CommentsSt. Louis Mills is a favorite destination for bargain hunters, shopaholics and … little kids?
Home to a skating rink, a go-cart track and a climbing wall, St. Louis Mills also features the First Due Fire Museum, a small storefront operation that showcases memorabilia, working equipment and merchandise.
“Yeah, we get a lot of kids,” said Eric Kiehl, one of the museum’s founders and assistant chief of the Hazelwood Fire Department. “Not everyone gets to visit a fire station, so they don’t know what gear is used. Here, they can try on a coat and feel the weight of a nozzle.”……
It’s website, www.firstduefiremuseum.com, says “The Museum promotes fire safety education and has interactive stations. It also displays many items of firefighting memorabilia and collectibles from the past to the present. Items include a 1820 hose cart, breathing apparatus, helmets, hose, toys, a 10′ aerial tip from a real 75′ ladder truck and much more.”

digg - Win-rar.com conveniently goes down.
http://www.digg.com/software/ WinRAR_Free_on_Sunday_July_30_2006 Maybe it’s early yet, but this seems pretty devious. Say you’ll give out free copies on one day - and on that day the site is down.

B25 Airplane Pulled Out of Lake Murray, South Carolina

From Abandoned But Not Forgotten, a website dedicated to abandoned building and sites in the United States:
“Recently, there has been some big hype going on in the small county of Lexington. Lake Murray is home to the island called “Bomb Island” where the air force used to do test bombing runs and assorted other activities, leaving many pieces of history to be found.. Like this B25(EDIT: thanks for the clear up) bomber. A private collector organized this retrieval of the plane and plans on preserving it at a state university or something like that.”

The time and scale size of planetary wave signatures (PWS) in the mid latitude F region ionosphere of the Northern Hemisphere and the main pattern of their possible sources of origin provides the ideal clue.
Air Force and Space Agencies all over the world use these means to track, monitor and learn from these UFOs.
Mental Illness Or Secret Weapons?

Suz LeBoeuf claims the voices in her head are speaking louder than ever these days, hammering away at odd times — in the shower, in bed or as she walks down the street — with gratuitous sexual banter or terrifying threats of violence. Sometimes it’s just meaningless words; other times, the voices seem to deliver stark clues leading her down a path toward understanding.
She blames the government.
Unusual Flavors of Ice Cream in Japan

At my local ice creamery, I was somewhat shocked that they had avocado ice cream as a special flavor on the menu. (I was more shocked when my niece ordered a scoop and loved it!) That’s nothing compared to the flavors available in Japan. Today’s Mainichi Daily News features a delightful photo gallery called “The Wackiest World of Japanese Ice Cream.”
Parody of “(Don’t Fear) the Reaper”

ApologetiX - Don’t Fear the People
Parody of “(Don’t Fear) the Reaper” by Blue Oyster Cult
Fallen times have come.We can’t turn and run
Stephen didn’t fear the people,
Not even when they stoned him to death
We can be like he was
CHORUS
C’mon baby
(Don’t fear the people)
Baby, take your stand
(Don’t fear the people)
And be ready to die
(Don’t fear the people)
Baby, they’re just men
When the fire was done, Nero burned Christians
Rome of old was full of men
Martyred for their Christianity
(Rome of old was full of men)
Although they tried they couldn’t kill them anyway
(Rome of old was full of men)
The more that died the more that came to take their place
(Read in your history book)
And now the Coliseum is an empty place
(We can be like they were)
CHORUS
Harken to the one– who was God’s own son:
Fear not man in his madness
Who if he killed your body couldn’t go on
The Lord’s the only one that you should fear
The person who first put you there
Who can certainly do something more severe
(When you’re thrown in the gave)
C’mon baby
(That’s the one to fear)
Defend the faith
(Like the martyrs who died)
Let’s get back to the faith they had
(We can become like they were)
They had taken a stand
(We can become like they were)
C’mon baby
(Don’t fear the people)
Matthew 10:28–Do not be afraid of those who kill the
body but cannot kill the soul.Rather, be afraid of the
one who can destroy both soul and body in hell.
