Cambridge, MA: Scientists at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology have finally succeeded in creating the long sought after mobius pizza, a one sided pizza completely covered with toppings.Mobius PizzaScience has long been aware that pizza lovers prefer toppings more than a bare crust. “We’ve attempted to solve this problem by adding flavorings and or cheese to outer crust or to make a deep dish styled pie filled with toppings,” stated MIT’s Chief Scientist of Foodology, Dr. John Jacobs. “Of course such actions did nothing regarding the pizza’s long ignored side, the bottom side.”
Pizza scientists, philosophers, and theologians have long theorized of the existence of a one sided pizza completed covered with rich gooey toppings for the utmost in pizza pleasure.

GRAND RAPIDS — The inaugural Tomato Fest and Great Tomato War established two facts Saturday: Tomatoes produce some award-worthy sauces, and they also catch some mad air.The highlight of the free, outdoor event, celebrating all things tomato and presented by The B.O.B. and WLAV-FM (96.9), was the tomato battles — typically pitting competing local businesses or organizations against each other — that took place throughout the day at The B.O.B. parking lot in downtown Grand Rapids.
The ultimate tomato war, drawing the most spectators, was between the Grand Rapids Fire and Police departments.
“The firefighter with the side arm was the best,” said Grand Rapids resident Michael Kane, 42. “The firefighters dominated the police.”
The police were not readily available for post-battle comment.
“They ran away after they lost,” firefighter Erik Ryder said.
About $5,000 from the event was donated to the Children’s Miracle Network, said Marcus Bradman, director of special events for Citadel Broadcasting, which sponsored the event.

Greedy sheep rescued from tree

Firemen may be well-practised in rescuing cats from trees, but the challenge facing the emergency services in Lund on Wednesday morning was an altogether different beast: a sheep stuck in a tree, seven metres from the ground.
When the fire engine arrived at St Lars park in the south of the city, officers found that a tree had partly fallen over and the sheep had worked its way up through the branches, lured by the tasty green leaves.
A group of children followed the episode with much amusement and afterwards named the sheep Tarzan.
